Crafting, paper crafts

Quick, Easy, and Inexpensive Flowers

Have any of you ever wanted to make something really fast and simple that will make people go WOW!! Recently, in my crafting research between my business up keep and my new online ESL teaching job, I started making tissue paper flowers.

Here are the supplies you will need:

  1. Tissue Paper ( I got a bunch of it for a dollar at Dollar Tree)
  2. Decorative Pipe Cleaners ( you can get these almost anywhere like Michaels, Hobby Lobby, Walmart)
  3. Scissors

If you know how to fold a paper fan, that technique is what you will need to know.

Put several layers of tissue paper down, preferably 4+. It can be any size of tissue paper; super tiny squares or the entire sheet. Fold it in sections (1 inch or 2 inches for a large flower, 1/2 an inch for a small one, etc) opposite of each other until you reach the end.

Now place the pipe cleaner in the middle of the “fan”. Now with your scissors cut out any design (pointed or curved) on the edges to even out the flower. Fan out the sides. It should sort of look like a bow tie at this point. lol 😀 Now lift up and fluff  each and every layer of tissue paper. Work one side at a time.

Once you are done, you should have something that looks like this.

My best friend thought they were shower poofs at first, when he quickly saw them in a similar picture, but he soon could see they were flowers. lol. They look more awesome in person. Plus, I found matching colored pipe cleaners. That was pretty cool!

These are great for gifts or for decorations. Just be careful not to get them wet, because they will disintegrate very easily.

Hope you enjoy this little craft for spring and Easter! See you soon with more great crafts!

New Etsy Store Name and Items for sale now

I have renamed my etsy store to Gabi’s What Knots and More and I just posted up for sale the latest three items I have. We have Yoshi, Pikachu, and Kirby up for sale NOW!… I just love my store’s name. My brother made it up for me about 6 months ago and it sort of stuck so I’m naming all my things that. 🙂 I’m also doing micro crochet, but I need to get stocking for those items.. 🙂

Aren’t they adorable?!

🙂

These guys are ready to go home and be adopted into your family today!

Shop now.. 🙂

Christmas is coming!!

I’m so excited.. I’m working on some mini amigurumis and I can’t wait to show you what I’ve created. The items are still being created. They take me slightly longer at times, because they are mini and are hard to see. I should’ve put a table magnifier on my list. lol 😀

Because they are Christmas gifts, I will not shout out to whom they are for at this time nor will I tag them in my pics. I’m trying to work fast on one because my best friend announced a couple of weeks ago he’s headed to Finland for New Year’s and leaves the day after after Christmas. He won’t be back for almost a month. I’m going to miss him tons. Makes me sad thinking about it. ;-(

Here’s an update: I’m trying to post my crafts once and a while on Instagram. My name is Musicgurl4vr on there so if you like what you see on this page feel free to follow and let me know you found my name on here. 🙂

I also love to take pictures of random stuff. I probably almost post something everyday; it’s sort of like a picture journal. lol I hope I don’t annoy you with my postings.

Anyway, until next week with my mini amigurumis… See you then.

My new Store

Hi, folks… Well. I’ve been busy making my little amigurumis. 🙂 Love them so much.. I started putting them on sale online… Here’s the store

gabiscreations.storenvy.com

I only have a kirby for sale at this time, but I’ll post more awesome products as soon as I can… Kirby will be $15.00 plus shippinKirby.jpgg. You can pay me through Paypal, which is very convenient. I’m still working on the shipping stuff, but I’ll let you guys know later… There is some editing to do on that part of the site.

Here’s what Kirby looks like. He’s made to order and I require at least a week to get him made and shipped to you.

Until next time, Have fun crafting!

Amigurumis

Hi, folks as promised I took a picture of the amigurumis I’ve been making. 🙂

My amigurumis: back to front (pikachu, kirby, and yoshi)

I’m making these to put up for sale at a local store. If that doesn’t work, I’m going to be putting them up for sale online. 🙂 I’m trying to decide on what store outlet to sell them on.  I’ve handmade them and each one has its own personality. I don’t know what happens, but the object always seems a little different after I finish it. 🙂 lol I think it is something to do with tension.

Yoshi, the green dinosaur, takes the most time. He takes a couple of days to complete when all is said and done, because he has a lot of detail work. Kirby is the pink creature. He’s cool and easy to make in a few hours. Pikachu, the yellow looking rabbit (lol we Pokemon lovers know he’s an electrical type and is really a rodent), takes me a good day to make. I’m falling in love with them all and hate to part with them, but they are my bread and butter for now.

I want to give a Shoutout the creators of the pattern: 53stitches, nerdigurumi, and Beverly Arnold’s Baby Dino pattern on Ravelry. I’ve had to tweak the patterns because they always change size, but the original patterns came from those creators. THANK YOU, guys!

Stay tuned for more awesome crafts!

More and More and More crafts

Howdy, Folks.. I’ve been so busy getting my new businesses off the ground. I’ve just started AVON this past month. It is having some difficulty getting on its feet. If you are interested please take a look at my site, and see all the cool and fashionable items availible. While there check out my AVON blog and also take a look at my beauty blog and personal webpage related to my businesses and services I offer.

Right now, I’m trying to make an inventory for a store I’m going to sell in. That store is Jay Street Games located at the Berkshire Mall in Lanesboro, MA. I’m really excited to show you my cool amigurumis. I’m making Kirby, Yoshi, and Pikachu. I can’t wait to start giving my little “babies” a new home.

Also this past month I made this cool hat. I’m picturing it below. I had to make several to fit a little girl’s correctly. I found the original pattern at this site, however, I had to improvise and create my own pattern. It took me a while.

Watch for my other craft pictures soon. Again, happy crafting and enjoy the rest of the 2016-02-09_215019385_A0602_iOS (1).jpgwinter… 🙂
